Painting your wall can refresh it. If you’re ready for a low-cost way to rejuvenate your home’s interior, then it’s time to break out the brushes, rollers, and drop cloths. However, there is a right way and a wrong way to paint your walls. Here are some tips for you to follow!
Load the Paint Brush
Before you can do anything else, you must load up the paintbrush. Dip the brush in up to ⅓ of the bristles. Tap the brush against the side of the bucket. Make sure you do this on both sides of the brush.
Apply the Paint
Applying the paint the right way is a crucial part of the process. Hold the brush like a pencil. Then go left to right if you are right-handed; if you are left-handed, then paint right to left. Do lighter and darker colors side-by-side instead of on top of each other.
Smooth the Paint
You’ve got to smooth out the paint. This technique applies to both wall and ceiling painting. Don’t push too hard; using too much force is a bad idea. Lightly draw the brush in long, smooth strokes and go in one direction at a time. You’ll want to paint a wet edge, as the rule of thumb goes. Once you’re done, lift the brush. By doing this, you can feather the stroke you used to paint.
Storing the Brush
Believe it or not, storing the brush is incredibly easy. When you’re taking a break for a few hours or a few days, there is minimal effort involved. All you need to do is wrap it in some plastic wrap. Be careful, as you don’t want to mess up the bristles and accidentally push them out of alignment. A high-quality paintbrush can last you for several years if you take care of it well enough. Just think of how many walls you can use it to paint!
