Tips for Choosing Brushes and Rollers

Tips for Choosing Brushes and Rollers
That’s why you should know how to choose the right brushes and rollers. By following these tips, you can get a better idea of what to expect!

Starting a new paint project can be fun. Still, there are tools you need to choose to help make it easier for you to get started and get it done. That’s why you should know how to choose the right brushes and rollers. By following these tips, you can get a better idea of what to expect

Choosing Brushes

There are two main types of brushes. One is natural and the other is synthetic. Choosing the right brushes ultimately depends on the types of paint you want to use. For natural brushes, you should pair them with oil-based paints, stains, and varnishes. If you want to use synthetic brushes use them with water-based or latex paints. Polyester brushes are long-lasting, especially if you take proper care of them.

Brush Sizes

The size of the brush also depends on what it is you’re trying to paint. One inch to 2 and a half inches Straight Edge brushes are good for woodwork and molding, for example. If you want to be more precise, going in for angled sash brushes that are 1 to 2.5 inches, as they are good for window frames and trim. Two-inch straight edge brushes are best for cutting around the corners of both inside and outside walls, and 3-4 inch straight edge are the ones you should choose if you are looking to paint walls and ceilings.

Choosing Rollers

Now let’s talk rollers. After all, rollers can help you cover wider amounts of space in less time, making the project go faster and feel less tedious. Walls and ceilings are large and flat, and that’s when you should use a roller.

Roller Covers

So now let’s focus on roller covers for a moment. The finish or sheen of the paint is what determines the type of cover you need. For instance, gloss and semi-gloss paints work best with short-nap rollers since there will be less foam and fewer bubbles produced by this combination.
