Room Design Tips: Adding Color to Your Kitchen

Room Design Tips: Adding Color to Your Kitchen
Adding a pop of color to your kitchen is much simpler than you think. If you are ready to make a change, then now is the time to start thinking about the outcomes you expect.

Adding a pop of color to your kitchen is much simpler than you think. If you are ready to make a change, then now is the time to start thinking about the outcomes you expect. Spring is a colorful season, so it’s only right that you add as much color to your home as possible. Let’s start by examining how to make your kitchen more cheerful

Put Paint Somewhere Surprising

There are many different surfaces in the kitchen that can be modified. Most homeowners assume that you can only paint the walls, the floors, or the cabinets. That’s not always the case. Think about adding paint to the sides of the kitchen island, the backsplash, and the ceiling. Islands can be elevated by just adding some mint green, pale aqua, or butter yellow. Then try to take your backsplash to the next level by adding red or green and blue or peach for the ceiling!

Put a Colorful Rug Down

When it comes to room design, keeping things simple can often produce surprising results. Take, for example, the quick and easy change of laying down a colorful rug. For best results, choose a rug suitable for indoor and outdoor environments to withstand all of the moisture in the kitchen. Regardless of the design of the rug, use some rug pads to keep it in place so no one slips, trips, or falls over it.

Use Colorful Dinnerware

Another quick and easy change is to use colorful dinnerware that you are always keen to display. Pair with accent colors from other nearby rooms for full effect

Paint Adjacent Walls

Speaking of the full effect, try painting adjacent walls. What does this mean? Simply pick one of the accent walls that you can see from the kitchen. Options include the hallways just outside the kitchen, the far wall in the dining room, and even a mudroom that is close to your kitchen! See, room design doesn’t need to be difficult!
